The vaccine might be cleared for usage in children ages 5 to 11 within a couple of weeks, authorities stated. The FDAs independent advisory committee meeting is set up for Oct. 26, and the CDCs independent advisory committee conference is set for Nov. 2 and 3. The Pfizer vaccine currently has complete approval for usage in adults, and the federal government has licensed it for emergency situation usage in children ages 12 to 17. White House authorities stated they were revealing the strategy to inoculate children ages 5 to 11 prior to the vaccine was approved for that age group so they might be “operationally prepared” to deploy the dosages as quickly as the approval came.

The White House stated on Wednesday that it is all set to rapidly roll out COVID-19 vaccines for kids ages 5 to 11, if the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for that age group is licensed by the Food and Drug Administration and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The administration has bought enough doses for all 28 million children because age and will supply it in smaller sized packages with essential materials like smaller needles to make it simpler to get to doctors, pediatricians and community health centers, Biden administration officials said. “Should the FDA and CDC authorize the vaccine, we will be all set to get shots in arms,” stated White House coronavirus action coordinator Jeff Zients during a news briefing Wednesday morning.

Under the strategy, the administration will work with state and local leaders to make the vaccine readily available at more than 25,000 pediatricians offices and primary care sites and 100 kidss healthcare facility systems as well as drug stores, schools and neighborhood health. “Thats why were making sure that its relied on messengers with clinical trustworthiness who go out there and talk about these vaccines,” Murthy stated.
