SALT LAKE CITY — North Temple is closed Saturday morning as firefighters work to extinguish flames engulfing a building at 1528 West.
No injuries or fatalities were reported, Salt Lake Fire Capt. Tony Stowe said. The building, and old Diamond Lil’s restaurant, was vacant and set to be demolished on Monday.
Salt Lake police have asked the public to avoid the area with “an emphasis on North Temple from Redwood Road to 1200 W. as far as 700 North.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Stowe.
