HONG KONG– Hong Kongs approving of a quarantine exemption to Hollywood star Nicole Kidman is drawing criticism from lawmakers as the city tightens entry constraints for worldwide tourists to control the coronavirus. Kidman, who apparently flew to Hong Kong recently from coronavirus-hit Sydney, was exempted from a weeklong quarantine and was identified in the city today filming a new Amazon Prime Video series titled “Expats,” according to regional media reports. The federal government stated in a statement Thursday that it had approved the exemption “for the function of carrying out designated expert work.” It stated the work was “favorable to keeping the required operation and advancement of Hong Kongs economy.”

He said shooting the series in Hong Kong would also bring tasks to the city.
