(Oct. 2, 2020) A coronavirus-positive client on Nantucket passed away Friday, Nantucket Cottage Hospital and the Nantucket Health Department revealed this evening.

Nantucket health director Roberto Santamaria said the client was among those detected in the current spike of cases on the island that started last Friday. No extra info will be launched up until the near relative are notified, he added.

Five new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Nantucket Friday, and 43 in the past eight days. Eighty-six cases have been reported on the island considering that Sept. 9, when Nantucket experienced its very first genuine spike of the pandemic.
