Fauci Says U.S. Doing Well on Vaccinations, Concerned About Level of Covid-19 Infections – The Wall Street Journal

Top health authorities alerted that vaccine hesitancy posed a threat to getting enough Americans inoculated to stop the spread of Covid-19, and they encouraged individuals to get vaccinated.
” If were going to have the ability to put Covid-19 behind us, we need to have all Americans take part in getting us to that point,” Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, said Sunday on NBCs “Meet the Press.”
President Bidens primary medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, stated individually that the U.S. has actually made good progress on vaccinations total but that the level of infections stays precarious at an average of almost 60,000 daily cases in the previous week since Friday. “We dont want that to increase,” Dr. Fauci said on ABCs “This Week With George Stephanopoulos.”
Dr. Collins highlighted pockets of the nation that are falling behind on vaccinations.
” You can take a look at the map and state, Where are vaccines lagging? Those are the locations to worry about,” Dr. Collins stated. “We could change that if we can really motivate everybody to get engaged.”
