The assistance allows for totally vaccinated people to go unmasked in the majority of public settings, with the exception of health care settings, indoor youth settings, homeless and emergency shelters, public transit and correctional centers. The CDC guidance still requires unvaccinated people to mask in indoor public settings and organizations as well as in outside settings when around individuals who are unvaccinated and not part of their family.
