A health care center in Far Rockaway is among 112 that have been mentioned for violations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.Since the start of the pandemic in March through Thursday, Oct. 15, the U.S. Department of Labors Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has pointed out 112 facilities for offenses connecting to their action to the virus, resulting in proposed penalties amounting to $1,603,544..
Amongst the establishments mentioned was Haven Manor Health Care Center LLC in Far Rockaway, which was fined $12,145 for violations.OSHA stated that the evaluations resulted in offenses for failure to: Implement a written breathing defense program; Provide a medical assessment, respirator fit test, training on the correct usage of a respirator and personal protective devices; Report a death, health problem, or injury; Record an injury or disease on OSHA recordkeeping forms; andComply with the General Duty Clause of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. According to OSHA, Manor Health Care Center was mentioned for stopping working to “guarantee that a staff member utilizing a tight-fitting facepiece respirator is healthy checked prior to initial use of the respirator, whenever a different respirator facepiece (size, style, design or make) is used.”.
