General frequency of alcohol consumption increased by about 14% from 2019, the scientists reported in the journal JAMA Network Open. That boost averages out to about one extra drinking day per month by 75% of grownups. Frequency of drinking increased by 17% amongst women, 19% amongst people aged 30 to 59 and by 10% amongst White people.Heavy drinking among females increased by 41%– about one extra day of heavy drinking for one in every 5 females.
